Best for
Couples, families and longer island stays where the resort is part of the experience.
Koh Lanta · Krabi · Thailand
A secluded island retreat where tropical forest tumbles down to a long sweep of Andaman beach.
Why we recommend it
Pimalai occupies a remarkable setting on the south-west coast of Koh Lanta, spreading from a quiet sandy beach into forested hills overlooking the Andaman Sea.
The scale of the estate creates distinct experiences. Stay close to the sand in the Beachside Estate, choose a spacious villa for family or friends, or retreat higher into the hillside for privacy and expansive sea views.
“Choose Pimalai when you want the scenery and seclusion of an island escape without sacrificing the restaurants, activities and thoughtful service of a full resort.”

Location & arrival
Pimalai sits near Ba Kan Tiang Bay in the quieter south of Koh Lanta. The official resort information includes a complimentary transfer from Krabi Airport, helping the journey onto the island feel part of the holiday.
Once there, the beach, forest and resort facilities provide plenty for a self-contained stay, while Koh Lanta Old Town, the national park, offshore islands and mangroves broaden the experience.
Rooms, suites & villas
Rooms and pavilion suites occupy the Beachside Estate, while villas are divided between beachside and elevated hillside settings. We will match the category to your party, preferred outlook and how much time you plan to spend at the resort.

Food, drink & atmosphere
Dining moves between relaxed beachfront seafood, southern Thai cooking, poolside meals and refined evenings with views over the Andaman Sea.

Good to know
The estate is extensive. Beachside and hillside accommodation feel quite different. We will explain the location and movement around the resort before recommending a room.
Pool-villa suitability matters. The hotel advises that its elevated hillside private pools are unfenced and not suitable for children under 12.
Stay long enough. Pimalai works particularly well for several unhurried nights, allowing time for both the resort and the wider island.
Everything is tailored. Rates vary by season and accommodation category, so we quote the complete holiday around your dates rather than display a price that may not be available.
