Our specialist view

Two bases, with time to get to know each.

Three nights in each place means less packing and moving. Jaipur brings the busier days, while Ranthambore changes the rhythm with early safari starts, time at the lodge and local visits between drives.

Suggested itinerary

Your journey, day by day

Day 1

Arrive in Jaipur

Arrive at Jaipur airport, where you are met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to settle in after the flight. Your first three nights are spent in Jaipur.

Day 2

Jaipur at dawn and the forts

Start early with a guided walk through Jaipur as the markets open and the city begins its day. There is time for local breakfast tastes and a glimpse of morning worship, followed by visits to Galta Ji, Amber Fort and Jaigarh Fort. It is a full sightseeing day; we can discuss the pace when tailoring your tour.

Day 3

Palaces, street food and a shared meal

Visit the City Palace and Jantar Mantar, with a photo stop at Hawa Mahal. In the afternoon, explore Jaipur through its street food before joining a local family for a cooking demonstration and dinner. Let us know about dietary requirements when planning the journey.

Day 4

Travel to Ranthambore

Leave Jaipur for Ranthambore and check in for a three-night stay. The original route allows around three and a half hours for the drive, although actual timings will depend on conditions. After lunch, head out on the first of three planned private-jeep safaris.

Day 5

Wildlife and local craft

An early-morning safari gives you another opportunity to explore the park with your guide. Return for breakfast and some time at the hotel. In the afternoon, the proposed programme visits the Dastkar Ranthambore craft project, subject to current visiting arrangements.

Day 6

Ranthambore Fort and a final safari

Visit Ranthambore Fort before returning for lunch. In the afternoon, take your third planned jeep safari. Each outing is different, and tiger sightings, like all wildlife sightings, cannot be guaranteed.

Day 7

Return to Jaipur

After breakfast, return by road to Jaipur airport for your onward flight. We will check the departure time against the drive and allow an appropriate buffer, or discuss an extra night if needed.
